Is one ‘waxing’ worth the other?

In previous issues we have always talked about and emphasised the concept of ‘epilation treatment‘, reporting on the fundamental steps that allow you to set up epilation as a real treatment, conveying the right value to your clients! Finally, we have arrived at the challenge, at the heart of this treatment!

Liposoluble, Brazilian, sugar paste... Is one worth the other?

So much confusion around these types of products. So many opinions, often conflicting, on what you really need to offer in your centre.

LET'S BE CLEAR

We should not be the ones who have to choose for the client, but we have to work out together with the client what is most convenient to do based on the goal she would like to achieve with epilation. So let’s take a step back, even before the cleansing (the first step in our treatment), let’s go back to when the client walks in the door and tells us that he/she wants to ‘wax’… Now your experience and knowledge come into play! It will be necessary to get the client talking, following targeted questions, to actually understand what result he would like to achieve, to make him understand what result it is possible to aim for if he sticks to your schedule, to understand his history in terms of hair removal, blemishes and so on. So no! One method is not the same as another, and the latter should not be chosen because it may be the fashion of the moment… Nowadays, it is necessary to have a complete range of solutions that can satisfy and solve customers’ problems. Let us therefore analyse the individual epilation methods and understand when to use them and, above all, propose them.

EPILATION WITH LIPOSOLUBLE

The most classic and at the same time incredibly effective. The resins of which it is composed give the product a high degree of adhesiveness. Suitable for those who come to the centre very occasionally, sometimes with short, razor-treated hair, but at the same time want to leave with a flawless result.

EPILATION WITH BRAZILIAN
The upgrade of the previous method. It is not just a fashion, but a mixture of elaborate and refined resins of different extraction. Their characteristic is undoubtedly their elasticity, which allows the professional to make broad strokes, encompassing only the hair which will then be removed, pulling off the wax in the correct way, without the help of TNT strips. An epilation that is certainly more delicate, especially in sensitive areas, and less painful as the wax will only encompass the client’s hair, avoiding that annoying patch effect on the skin. But beware! Brazilian wax is very suitable as a first treatment if during the client’s check-up we see that her skin is well moisturised and exfoliated!!! If we see dry, thickened skin, with a hair perhaps cut with a razor blade, then it might be useful to take a step back, going back to the liposoluble, to prepare our client for a subsequent treatment with Brazilian wax. Basically, this is a much used and requested method as it is much gentler than the classic lipo-soluble, which thanks to the associated pluses and correct protocol will allow this treatment to be offered with a much higher perceived and economic value.
EPILATION WITH SUGARPASTE
The most natural and complete epilation treatment there is. A truly unique application method and technique that, with the right training, will enable you to offer your clients a treatment they will literally fall in love with. An epilation treatment that offers a thousand benefits: gentle and skin-friendly epilation, hydration of the skin thanks to the moisturising properties of sugar, the draining effect thanks to the massage performed by applying the sugar paste itself, gentle exfoliation of the skin. Your most sensitive, delicate clients or those with capillary problems can rest assured as they can count on a gentle, natural, hypoallergenic and body temperature epilation. This epilation is the most valuable solution you can offer your clients if they are willing to follow you on a path to perfect skin and thinning hair session after session.

But how do we know, once we have chosen the right method, whether your fat-soluble, Brazilian or sugar paste is the right product? We will see in a nice in-depth article in the next issue…
